Yoga is the union of mind, body and spirit. Iyengar is the practice of asanas (posture) and pranayama (breath control). Becuase all bodies are different and people have different weaknesses and strengths, the instructor utalizes blocks and belts that help adjust or support in the different postures. This helps each student individualize their practice and work in a range of motion that is safe, effective and pain free for their body.
The practice of Iyengar Yoga will often result in eliminating aches and pains, improve posture etc. Not to mention the added benefits of stress relief and weight loss.
This Yoga class covers all aspects of the body; balance, strength, endurance, and flexibility. As well as gently introducing the mind and spirit aspects of Yoga.
This 45 minute Yoga class is for all levels and home practice is always encouraged.
